About the project
kultur-multur.org is a non-governmental organization based in Prague
with an aim to promote integration of foreigners through intercultural
dialogue. The primary focus is Central Asian diaspora.
From the geo-political point of view the Central Asia is often seen as
limited with the former Soviet Asian countries, so called Five Stans -
Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan. From
cultural and anthropological point of view, however, the region
comprises vast areas from Mongolia, Siberia, Inner Mongolia and
Sincian-Ujgur Autonomous Rayon of Western China, Central Asia per ser,
to Afghanistan and Iran, if not more. The thousands years of common
history and interconnectedness of these nations along the ancient Silk
Road truly enables us to see the region as a closely related social and
cultural entity.
The Central Asian community in Czech Republic and Europe is diverse and
in a certain ways, quite young. It remains small in numbers yet it is
distinctly multicultural, multilingual, educated and motivated.
kultur-multur.org aims to help build bridges through means of cultural
events as concerts, seminars and discussions at various forums,
including schools, universities and festivals.
